Domestic indices in India opened in the green and reached new all-time highs, despite muted global cues. The NSE Nifty 50 index surged by 70.65 points or 0.36% to reach 19,819.90, while the BSE Sensex climbed by 203.34 points or 0.30% to reach 66,998.48.
In terms of sectoral indices, the Bank Nifty gained 154.80 points or 0.34% to reach 45,565.65, while the Nifty IT index rose by 0.51%. However, the Nifty Auto index fell by 0.25%.
Among the top gainers on the Nifty 50 were NTPC, IndusInd Bank, Infosys, Apollo Hospitals, and Wipro. On the other hand, the losers on the Nifty 50 included Maruti Suzuki, Cipla, Hero MotoCorp, HDFC Life, and Eicher Motors.
